Scott Young, Managing Director

Scott Young has been in the renewable energy industry for more than 25 years. Starting out selling and designing equipment and systems for off-grid applications, Scott then started in 2016 the new company CATCH Power, manufacturing gateway devices that manage energy flow between solar panels, household appliances and the grid. Scott Young has been Managing Director of the group for the last three years.

CATCH Power was founded in April 2016 by Jason de Jong and Scott Young, both veterans of the solar industry.  CATCH Power is a manufacturer of electronic products to help owners and installers of solar powered systems to maximise the performance out of the system.

The company started with the optimisation of electric hot water matched to solar production.  Since then, CATCH Control has been released and has been installed in over 25,000 sites around Australia and New Zealand.  CATCH Control brings system control to the next level, solving the challenges of controlling loads, system monitoring and visibility, DNSP requirements, mixed brands of inverters on the one site, and total site orchestration of CER.

In June 2024 CATCH Power acquired Solar Analytics.  This brought another level of monitoring, insights and engineering skills to CATCH Power.  Between the two companies, there are more than 70,000 sites installed across Australia and New Zealand.

CATCH Power is celebrating it’s tenth year as a proud manufacturer and developer of industry-leading technology to help with the energy transition that is required to change how we live and function on this planet.
