Jonathan Fisk — Founder and Lead Consultant

Jonathan Fisk is a business founder and operator with more than 35 years’ experience building, growing and selling companies, including most recently in the Australian solar industry.

He is the founder of Solaray Energy, which he grew from a startup into a leading residential, battery and commercial solar retailer before selling the business in 2023 to a global energy technology investor. Solaray operated as both a traditional solar installation business and a systems-driven sales and operations organisation — experience that gives Jonathan a practical understanding of the challenges faced by installer-led businesses as they scale.

Beyond Solaray, Jonathan has started, scaled and exited multiple businesses across energy, technology and services. He now spends much of his time working alongside owner-operators and technically strong founders who are excellent at delivery, but often stretched by growth, technology change, staff reliance, or uncertainty about their long-term direction.

Today, Jonathan helps business owners turn their businesses into long-term wealth-creating assets — whether that means preparing for a future sale, increasing income, reducing owner dependence, or planning a succession — drawing on lessons learned from real operating businesses.

Crystalliq Pathways works with owners of solar, renewables and trades businesses to help them  prepare their companies for clear outcomes such as sale, succession, or sustainable long-term growth.

Crystalliq works primarily with founder-led, trade-based and technical businesses — including solar installers and energy service companies — that have grown through reputation and hard work, but not always with a clear plan for the next phase.

Crystalliq supports owners to:

  • align the business with the personal goals and aspirations of the owner(s), not the other way around
  • gain clarity on future pathways, including sale, divestment, succession or continued growth
  • define practical plans and priorities to move toward those outcomes
  • implement the key changes required in both the short and longer term

This work may support a sale, a succession plan, or simply a more resilient and profitable business that gives the owner greater choice over time.
