Stand up for Solar with our CURRENT CAMPAIGNS:
Nett Feed in Tariff for NSW
Thanks to you and your determination not to let the new Coalition Government get away with retrospective legislation, Barry O'Farrell has abandoned his controversial stance in retroactively changing the Solar Bonus Scheme. SEIA have provided correct figures to the Government and key Independents and demonstrated how to save money WITHOUT such drastic and devastating action.
While we have protected the feed in tariff for existing solar customers, new installations (from 28th April 2011) will not be paid ANYTHING for the power they feed into the grid (power electricity providers then charge money for!) so while we have succeeded in a major battle, the war is yet to be won.
GET INVOLVED by signing our emails to relevant politicians requesting at the minimum a parity feed in tariff (ie solar power generators are paid the same rate per kilowatt hour as the energy companies charge per k/wh of power). Sign our petition too so Mr O'Farrell and his Coalition cabinet understand that this is not just a backlash by angry solar array owners fighting for the feed in tariffs they were promised, but a State of concerned voters who care deeply about climate change and the move to a low carbon economy, with the sensible solution of Solar as its central premise.
Federal Feed In Tariff
All over the country, solar schemes are being curtailed, ended and amended. The time has long passed for such a crucial energy industry to be at the mercy of boom and bust solar schemes and changing State Governments. We need a Federally regulated Feed in Tariff in order to ensure a sustainable future for this crucial low carbon industry.
Sign our petition and send an email to Julia Gillard, Martin Ferguson, Greg Combet and the key independents to request legislation to introduce a Federal Feed-In Tariff to secure the future of the solar industry in Australia.
Class Action
Thanks to our concerted efforts and your registration for our Class Action in the event of agreed solar tariffs being reneged on, the NSW Coalition have backtracked on their proposal to introduce retrospective legislation.
We have united our hands and voices and demonstrated our people power. Your names, voices and stories have been crucial in our campaign. We may never need a Class Action but the solar industry will still need you as a supporter and citizen with the guts to stand up to draconian Government antics.
Thank you for standing up for Solar, we hope we can keep you involved and up to date as our campaigns progress.
